Practicum Objectives
The objective of this practicum is to acquire skills and experience in a variety of library domains. Areas of investigation will include cataloging online materials for student subject portals; creating and managing managing digital collections and metadata; preparing, importing, and cataloging a new digital oral history collection; creating archival finding aids; and evaluating and testing new library software platforms. Systems and tools to be used may include Connexion, Millenium, OhioLink Digital Resource Commons, OhioLink EAD Finding Aid Creation Tool, CONTENTdm, DSpace, and Omeka. Additionally, I will be attending a number of departmental meetings, professional engagements, and special presentations.
