Scanning…
Just finished scanning and editing (cropping edges, quality checks, etc.) all of the images. Each of the files will be converted from 600dpi TIFFs (archival copy) to 72dpi JPGs with a maximum large side dimension of 600px (web display copy for CONTENTdm). Not much else to say about that.
On a preservation note, we removed the album leafs from the binder prior to scanning (to avoid stressing the leather binding and linen pages) and decided to keep them separated after discovering some rust and jagged edges.
