This site is designed to fulfill the documentation requirement for my practicum at the Kent State University School of Library & Information Science.
I have chosen to make this an open blog for three reasons: first of all, it is more interesting to write for an imagined audience of many than it is to write for an actual audience of one; second, it leaves open the possibility that my practicum experience will be of interest and use to other SLIS students; and finally, it gives me the opportunity to work in an online environment which is becoming increasingly common in the world of libraries, universities, and information centers.
